Instagram: comment triggers, AI on comments, welcome messages in Direct, and moderation

The Instagram menu groups the screens that decide what happens once the professional account is connected: comment triggers that send a Direct message, the AI replying to comments, welcome messages, opening questions, story mentions, triggers on lives, and comment moderation.

When it appears: The Instagram group appears in the menu only when the Instagram channel is enabled on the account; the professional account is connected in "Conexões" (Connections). "Boas-vindas" (Welcome), "Perguntas de abertura" (Opening questions), and Stories work once the account is connected. "Gatilhos" (Triggers), "IA nos comentários" (AI on comments), "Moderação" (Moderation), and Lives also depend on Meta's comments permission: without it, those screens show the notice "Este recurso está em aprovação da Meta" (This feature is pending Meta approval).

Who can use it

RoleWhat you see and do
OwnerConfigures everything: triggers, the master switch, AI on comments and the review desk, welcome messages, questions, stories, lives, and moderation.
AdminSame access as the Owner on every Instagram screen.
AgentDoes not see the Instagram group in the menu. If they open a direct URL, the screen loads, but saving, turning switches on, approving replies, and hiding or deleting comments are rejected for the role. Direct conversations are handled normally in the Inbox.

Screens

"Instagram — Gatilhos de comentário" (Instagram — Comment triggers)

The "Gatilhos de comentário" (Comment triggers) screen is for creating the rule "comment the word and we'll reach out": anyone who comments the agreed word receives your public reply and a Direct message from you, and the AI takes over when the person replies.

Address in the dashboard: /app/conexoes/instagram

The "Instagram — Gatilhos de comentário" (Instagram — Comment triggers) screen in the demo account, with sample data and blurred values.

How to get there: Through the "Gatilhos" (Triggers) item in the Instagram menu, or through the "Gatilhos e boas-vindas" (Triggers and welcome messages) button on the Instagram card in "Conexões" (Connections).

Header and account (common to all Instagram screens)

The screen title, a short explanation, and, when more than one account is connected, the account selector. The chosen account applies to all menu screens until you switch.

Buttons and actions

"Voltar para Conexões" (Back to Connections)
Goes back to the "Conexões" (Connections) screen.
"‹@conta›" (‹@account›)
Each connected account is a tab with its photo and @handle; selecting one switches the screen's triggers, counters, welcome messages, and comments.

Master switch for triggers

Turns all of the account's comment triggers on or off at once, effective immediately.

Buttons and actions

"Gatilhos de comentário da conta ‹conta›" (Comment triggers for account ‹account›)
The master switch. When off, comments keep arriving, but no one receives an automatic reply.
"Religar gatilhos" (Turn triggers back on)
Shown when the platform paused the triggers (Instagram flagged a problem with the account or sends failed in a row); turn them back on after reviewing the texts.
  • Status: "Gatilhos de comentário: ligados" (Comment triggers: on), "desligados" (off), or "pausados desde ‹data›" (paused since ‹date›).
  • Notice "Gatilhos de comentário desligados." (Comment triggers turned off.) when you were the one who turned them off.
  • Notice "Pausamos os gatilhos de comentário ‹data›." (We paused the comment triggers ‹date›.) with the reason; nothing is sent while paused.
  • Notice "A Meta recusou botão no primeiro envio desta conta." (Meta rejected a button on this account's first send.): the message goes out with the text, and the buttons are sent when the person replies.

What this account's triggers have produced

The full funnel of the feature and what did not become a message, with the reason.

  • comments caught: matched the word and passed the AI screening.
  • DMs sent: trigger messages that were actually sent.
  • conversations opened: the person replied and the AI took over.
  • leads in the pipeline: with ‹n› hot · ‹n› warm, and how many follow the account.
  • Blocked-comments strip: "‹n› comentários não viraram DM" (‹n› comments did not become a DM) with the most common reason and the others (screening, caps, opt-out). With none: "Nenhum comentário barrado até agora" (No comments blocked so far).
  • Error: "Não foi possível carregar os números do gatilho" (Could not load the trigger numbers), with "Tentar de novo" (Try again).

Switch on each row: turns off or back on only that trigger.
"Editar" (Edit)
Opens the same form with the trigger filled in.
"Remover" (Remove)
Opens the confirmation to remove the trigger.
  • Each row shows the word, where it applies (the post or Reel with its date and the start of its caption, "Qualquer publicação ou Reel" (Any post or Reel), or "A próxima publicação ou Reel (armado)" (The next post or Reel (armed))), and what goes out (public replies and DM with or without buttons).
  • Empty: "Nenhum gatilho nesta conta ainda." (No triggers on this account yet.) with a suggestion to create the first one.

Form "Novo gatilho" (New trigger) / "Editar gatilho" (Edit trigger)

Everything that goes out is your own text; the AI only reads the comment beforehand (screening for sarcasm, offense, and spam).

Fields and filters

Exact whole-word match; uppercase and accents do not matter. Up to 80 characters.

  • Errors appear in a red notice before saving (empty word, no post chosen, button without a title or with a link that lacks https://).

"Instagram — IA nos comentários" (Instagram — AI on comments)

The "IA nos comentários" (AI on comments) screen is for deciding whether the AI replies publicly to people who comment without typing the trigger word, such as “how much does it cost?”, and who approves: you at the review desk, or the AI itself in the categories you allow.

Address in the dashboard: /app/conexoes/instagram/ia

The "Instagram — IA nos comentários" (Instagram — AI on comments) screen in the demo account, with sample data and blurred values.

The AI replies to comments: the three positions

Choose how the AI acts on this account's comments.

Buttons and actions

"Desligado" (Off)
The default: only the triggers you wrote reply; the AI writes nothing in public.
"Sugerir" (Suggest)
The recommended position: the AI writes and the reply waits at the review desk; nothing goes out until a human approves.
"Automático por categoria" (Automatic by category)
The categories you turn on go out on their own; the others keep coming to the desk.
  • The recommended position carries the "recomendado" (recommended) badge.

Review desk

One suggestion at a time: the comment and post on the left, the editable draft, the reason, and the source on the right. When off, the desk is dimmed just to show what you gain by turning it on.

Fields and filters

"Rascunho da IA — edite se quiser" (AI draft — edit if you like)
The text that will be published. With no source in your knowledge base, the field comes empty with the label "Escreva a resposta" (Write the reply).

Buttons and actions

"Aprovar e responder" (Approve and reply)
Publishes the field's text as a reply to the comment on Instagram. Shortcut: the A key.
"Editar" (Edit)
Moves the cursor to the draft. Shortcut: the E key.
"Descartar" (Discard)
Removes the suggestion from the queue without publishing; the discard is recorded in moderation. Shortcut: the D key.
"Inserir emoji na resposta" (Insert emoji in the reply)
Opens the emoji picker in the draft, at the cursor position.
  • "Aguardando você" (Waiting for you) header with the progress bar and "‹n› de ‹m›" (‹n› of ‹m›) for the review session.
  • The author, how long ago, "comentário público" (public comment), and the category (Price question, Praise, Hours question, Complaint, or Other topic).
  • Counter ‹n›/‹limit› that counts the way the server does (an emoji counts as one); above the short-reply limit the screen warns you, and above what Instagram accepts the approve button is blocked.
  • "Por que sugeri isto:" (Why I suggested this:) with the reason, and "fonte: “…”" (source: “…”) or "sem fonte na sua base — o texto é seu" (no source in your base — the text is yours).
  • A notice when the source rule held the draft back, and when the comment is no longer on Instagram (it can only be discarded).
  • The shortcuts do not fire while focus is in a text field or while the emoji picker is open.
  • Empty: "Fila vazia — nada esperando por você." (Empty queue — nothing waiting for you.)
  • Editing before approving saves your version as an example of your voice (see "A sua voz" (Your voice)).

"Automático por categoria" (Automatic by category)

Each category you turn on goes out without passing through the desk. The switches are only available when the "Automático por categoria" (Automatic by category) position is chosen.

Buttons and actions

"Responder ‹categoria› automaticamente" (Reply to ‹category› automatically)
Turns the category on or off (price question, praise, hours question). "Reclamação" (Complaint) appears off and cannot be turned on.
"Publicar sozinha mesmo sem fonte na base" (Publish on its own even without a source in the knowledge base)
Starts off and only applies in automatic mode: when on, the chosen categories go out even without a source in your knowledge base, with no one reading them first. Price and hours still require a source; complaints stay out.
  • Each category shows example comments (“how much does it cost?”, “loved it”, “are you open on Saturday?”).
  • The source rule: an enabled category only goes out on its own when the reply is backed by your knowledge base.

How it writes

The length and emoji of the public reply; the account's persona still governs the rest of the voice.

Buttons and actions

"Usar emoji nas respostas públicas" (Use emoji in public replies)
Turns emoji on or off in the replies the AI writes. Your own fields keep the emoji picker.
  • The reply goes out short; if it exceeds the limit, it does not go out on its own and comes to the desk flagged as too long.

Your voice

Pairs of comment and reply that teach your account's way of replying, without training any model.

Fields and filters

"Um comentário" (One comment)
An example comment, such as “how much does it cost?”.
"Como VOCÊ responderia" (How YOU would reply)
Your reply to it, with a counter for the channel's limit.

Buttons and actions

"Guardar exemplo" (Save example)
Adds the pair to the list; when the list is full, the next one pushes the oldest out.
"Remover o exemplo “‹comentário›”" (Remove the example '‹comment›')
Opens the confirmation to remove that example.
"Desfazer" (Undo)
Appears after a correction of yours at the desk became an example; it returns the list to how it was.
"Inserir emoji no comentário do exemplo" (Insert emoji in the example comment)
Emoji picker in the comment field.
"Inserir emoji na sua resposta" (Insert emoji in your reply)
Emoji picker in the reply field.
  • List "Comentário: “…” / Você responderia: “…”" (Comment: “…” / You would reply: “…”) and the counter "‹n› de ‹m›" (‹n› of ‹m›).
  • A notice when an example is longer than the channel's limit: the AI keeps the tone and shortens it.

Dialog "Remover este exemplo da sua voz?" (Remove this example from your voice?)

The AI stops using the example; replies already published stay. It cannot be undone.

Buttons and actions

"Cancelar" (Cancel)
Closes without removing.
"Remover exemplo" (Remove example)
Removes the example.

Screen states

Loading
Gray blocks in place of the positions and the desk.

  • A preview of the message as the person sees it in Direct, for the general version and the follower version.
  • Notices "O Instagram recusou o áudio no último envio." (Instagram rejected the audio on the last send.) and "O Instagram recusou os botões das boas-vindas no último envio." (Instagram rejected the welcome buttons on the last send.): the text kept going out, and the notice disappears on the next accepted send.
  • Errors before saving: empty text in a format with text, missing audio in a format with audio, invalid buttons.

Screen states

Loading
Gray blocks in place of the form.

"Instagram — Perguntas de abertura" (Instagram — Opening questions)

The "Perguntas de abertura" (Opening questions) screen is for writing up to 4 ready-made questions that Instagram shows to people opening your Direct for the first time; the tap becomes the first message and your service replies.

Address in the dashboard: /app/conexoes/instagram/perguntas

Instagram — Stories

The Stories screen is for deciding what happens when someone tags your account in a story (a fixed thank-you in Direct) and explains how replies to your stories arrive.

Address in the dashboard: /app/conexoes/instagram/stories

The Instagram — Stories screen in the demo account, with sample data and blurred values.

Story mention

The person tagged your account in their story: they become a lead right away, with the mention recorded in the conversation.

Turns on sending the thank-you on the next mention. Starts off.
"Salvar" (Save)

  • Notice: each thank-you sent "debita 1 mensagem do Instagram do saldo" (debits 1 Instagram message from the balance); with no balance, the mention reaches the Inbox without the automatic reply.
  • Errors: "O agradecimento precisa ter até 500 caracteres." (The thank-you must be 500 characters or fewer.) and "Escreva o texto do agradecimento antes de ligar o envio." (Write the thank-you text before turning sending on.)

Address in the dashboard: /app/conexoes/instagram/lives

The Instagram — Lives screen in the demo account, with sample data and blurred values.

Triggers on lives

Anyone who comments the word during the live receives the same Direct message.

Buttons and actions

"Responder gatilhos também nos comentários das suas lives" (Also respond to triggers in comments on your lives)
Turns on or off, effective immediately. Starts off.
  • Only account-wide triggers apply; the screen tells you how many you have active (or suggests creating one in "Gatilhos" (Triggers) with the whole-account option). A trigger tied to a post does not watch the live.
  • The Direct message only goes out while the live is on air; if it ends first, the attempt is recorded in "Moderação" (Moderation) with the reason.
  • Its own hourly cap, tighter than the one for posts. Each message sent debits 1 Instagram message from the balance; AI screening, the one-message-per-person-per-24-hours rule, and opt-out still apply.

Screen states

Loading
A gray block in place of the card.
Meta's comments permission not yet granted
"Este recurso está em aprovação da Meta" (This feature is pending Meta approval).

"Instagram — Comentários e moderação" (Instagram — Comments and moderation)

The "Comentários e moderação" (Comments and moderation) screen is for seeing every comment that went through the triggers with the decision taken, filtering by status, trigger, post, period, and author, and hiding, unhiding, or deleting comments with confirmation.

Address in the dashboard: /app/conexoes/instagram/moderacao

The "Instagram — Comentários e moderação" (Instagram — Comments and moderation) screen in the demo account, with sample data and blurred values.

Moderation filters

Filters add up and the list narrows with each choice. The number inside each status counts the selection you have already made.

Buttons and actions

"‹situação› ‹n›" (‹status› ‹n›)
The row of statuses: All, Replied, Replied by the AI, Blocked by the AI, Suggestions, Hidden, and Deleted. The left and right arrows (and Home and End) move along the row; Enter or space selects.
"Gatilho" (Trigger)
Shows only comments caught by a word.
"Publicação" (Post)
Shows only comments on one post or Reel.
"Período" (Period)
Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or All time, in the account's time zone.
"‹filtro›: todos" (‹filter›: all)
The first option in each menu: turns that filter off.
"Remover o filtro ‹nome›" (Remove filter ‹name›)
The x on an active filter pill: turns that filter off.
"Buscar por autor do comentário" (Search by comment author)
"Buscar @autor" (Search @author) field: part of the @handle is enough, with or without the @. The search runs when you stop typing or press Enter.
"Limpar a busca por autor" (Clear author search)
Clears the search text.
  • On accounts with a long history, the author search tells you how far back it looked; choosing a post or a period makes it go deeper.

List of comments

Suggestions to hide are highlighted at the top under any filter; the rest comes from newest to oldest and loads more as you scroll.

Buttons and actions

"Atualizar" (Refresh)
Asks Instagram, one by one, which comments in the list still exist and marks the ones that were deleted directly in the app. It checks one batch per click and tells you how many are left for the next click.
"Ocultar" (Hide)
Opens the confirmation to hide the comment from the public (it can be undone).
"Reexibir" (Unhide)
Shown on a hidden comment; opens the confirmation to show it again.
"Apagar" (Delete)
Opens the confirmation to remove the comment from the profile for good.
"Ver todos os comentários" (View all comments)
Shown on the empty list when a filter is on; turns off all filters.
  • Each comment shows the author, the badges "Sugerimos ocultar" (We suggest hiding), "Oculto" (Hidden), "Apagado" (Deleted), or "Apagado no Instagram" (Deleted on Instagram), the text, the decision with its reason, and the date.
  • A deleted comment stays in the list, struck through and with no buttons.
  • "E mais ‹n› sugestões de ocultar esperando decisão" (And ‹n› more suggestions to hide awaiting a decision) when there are more suggestions than are shown at the top.
  • Footer: the AI never hides or deletes on its own; hiding can be undone, deleting cannot.
  • Empty with no filter: "Nenhum comentário passou pelos gatilhos ainda." (No comment has gone through the triggers yet.) Empty with a filter: the status sentence with the selection (for example, no comments blocked by the AI in the last 7 days).

Moderation dialog

"Ocultar este comentário?" (Hide this comment?), "Reexibir este comentário?" (Unhide this comment?), or "Apagar este comentário do seu post?" (Delete this comment from your post?), always with the comment's text and author inside the dialog.

Buttons and actions

"Reexibir comentário" (Unhide comment)
The comment appears on the post again.
"Apagar de vez" (Delete permanently)
Removes the comment from your public profile for good.
  • If the comment no longer existed on Instagram, the screen tells you and updates the row instead of showing an error.

Screen states

  3. Turn on "Agradecer no Direct quando alguém mencionar a sua conta num story" (Thank people in Direct when they mention your account in a story).
  4. Click "Salvar" (Save).

How to hide or delete a comment from the dashboard

  1. In the Instagram menu, open "Moderação" (Moderation).
  2. Find the comment using the row of statuses, the "Gatilho" (Trigger), "Publicação" (Post), and "Período" (Period) filters, or the search by @author.
  3. Click "Ocultar" (Hide) (can be undone) or "Apagar" (Delete) (cannot be undone).
  4. Check the text and author in the dialog and click "Ocultar comentário" (Hide comment) or "Apagar de vez" (Delete permanently).

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't the Instagram menu appear on my dashboard?

The group only exists when the Instagram channel is enabled on the account, and it does not appear for the agent role. With the channel enabled, connect the professional account in "Conexões" (Connections) to use the screens.

Why does the Triggers screen say the feature is pending Meta approval?

Triggers, AI on comments, Moderation, and Lives depend on Meta's comments permission. Until it is granted for your account, those screens show the notice; Direct, welcome messages, opening questions, and stories already work.

With two Instagram accounts, do I have to choose the account on each screen?

No. The selector at the top appears when there is more than one account, and the chosen account applies to all screens in the Instagram menu until you switch.

Can the desk's A, E, and D shortcuts publish something by accident?

Not while you type: they do not work with focus in a text field, with the emoji picker open, or with focus on another part of the page. They only apply with the desk on and a suggestion on screen.

What is the difference between removing a trigger and turning off its switch?

Turning it off pauses the trigger and keeps everything so you can turn it back on later. Removing deletes the trigger; in both cases, anyone who comments the word immediately stops receiving a message, and conversations and leads already created stay.

Can I upload an audio file instead of recording the welcome message in the browser?

Yes, when the browser only records in a format Instagram does not accept: the screen shows "Enviar arquivo de áudio" (Upload audio file), and you upload an M4A, MP3, or OGG recorded on your phone.

What happens if I save the opening questions with an empty list?

The questions are removed from Direct, and anyone opening the conversation sees only the typing field again. The screen warns you before saving.

Why doesn't the "Atualizar" (Refresh) button in moderation check all comments at once?

Each comment is checked with a query to Instagram, so each click checks part of the list. The message tells you how many it checked, how many are gone, and how many remain for the next click.

Instagram: Triggers, AI on comments, and welcome messages

Turn a comment into a conversation on Direct ("comment CRM and my team will contact you") and give a good welcome to people who reach out on their own, with your welcome message and the AI handling the conversation afterward.

This screen handles the two ways Instagram becomes a conversation: people who message you on Direct on their own and people who comment on a post in response to your invitation. Connecting the account stays in "Conexões" (Connections). Here you configure what happens after it is connected: the comment triggers, the welcome message for each account, and comment moderation.

Before you start: the connected account

Instagram only delivers messages for Professional accounts: Business or Creator. Personal profiles do not receive messages through an app; that is their rule for every tool. The connection is made on the Instagram card in "Conexões" (Connections), and ends with a simple, mandatory test: send a "hi" to your account from another profile (a colleague's phone works). The connection is only ready when that hi arrives here, which proves the whole path works, instead of a green light given out of optimism.

With more than one connected account, everything on this screen is per account: the selector at the top chooses which one, and each has its own triggers, its own welcome messages, and its own numbers.

The comment trigger, from post to conversation

The whole idea fits in a sentence that you publish yourself: "comment CRM and my team will contact you". You create the trigger here before posting; from then on, anyone who comments the word receives your reply on the comment (if you want one) and a message from you on Direct. When the person replies to that message, the AI takes over the conversation, qualifies the lead as on any channel, and the lead enters the "Funil" (Pipeline).

  1. Choose the account: In the selector at the top. The trigger belongs to an account, and so do its numbers and texts.
  2. Choose the post: Three modes: one post (pick from the list or paste the link to the post or Reel), any post (the word works across the whole account, for those who advertise the same word in their bio), or the next post: the trigger stays armed and attaches itself to the first post you publish after creating it. The usual path is by post: different campaigns use different words.
  3. Write the word: An exact word or phrase. Uppercase and accents do not matter ("CRM", "crm", and "Crm!" are the same), but there are no synonyms or near matches: "pricey" does not fire a "price" trigger. The word is the public agreement between you and the people who comment; the shorter and easier to type, the better.
  4. Write the public reply (optional): This is what appears under the person's comment, on the post itself. You can write up to 3 variations, which are drawn at random so the replies are not all identical, one under the other. You can turn it off and leave only the Direct message.
  5. Write the Direct message: It is your text, not the AI's. Use {nome} to include the person's @ (it is the name Instagram gives us on the comment) and say who is speaking: the person is moving from a public comment to their own inbox. If you want, add up to 3 link buttons to your website, catalog, or scheduling page.
  6. Turn it on and publish: Save the trigger, check the account's master switch, and publish the post with the invitation. The screen shows since when the triggers have been on; turning them off takes one click and applies immediately.

On screen: Instagram triggers screen with the connected account at the top, the funnel of what the triggers produced, the list of triggers, and the start of the comments panel. The full feature screen: the account, the numbers, the triggers created, and the start of moderation.

  1. The account and the master switch: With more than one connected account, the selector here chooses which one you are configuring. The switch turns off all of the account's triggers in one click, and turns them back on the same way, effective immediately.
  2. The feature's funnel: Comments caught, DMs sent, conversations opened, and leads in the pipeline, and with equal prominence, what did not become a message and why: screening, caps, do-not-contact requests. A drop shows up as a drop, with a name.
  3. The triggers created: One per row: the word, where it applies (a chosen post or the whole account), and what goes out, the public reply and the DM. "Editar" (Edit) opens the same form as create; the small switch turns off only that trigger.

Just one message, and why that protects you

From a comment, Instagram allows a single message on Direct. That is their rule, with no exceptions, and with a deadline: the comment must be less than 7 days old. If the person does not reply, there is no second attempt. It may seem like little, but this rule is what keeps the feature healthy: someone who receives a message after commenting understands why; someone who received five would report it as spam, and reports affect your account, not ours.

That is why the trigger message deserves the most care: it needs to introduce itself, recall the comment, and invite a reply, because the person's reply is what truly opens the conversation.

The caps, and the reason for each

The limits below come turned on, on purpose. Instagram's technical limit is much higher; the limit that matters is the one for reports. An account that sends too much becomes a target for "mark as spam", and that reduces the reach of everything you post:

30 messages per post, per hour
A Reel that goes viral overnight cannot turn into hundreds of messages in minutes. The excess is recorded: you see the volume and decide whether to raise the cap.
200 messages per account, per day
The pace of a healthy account. Well below what Instagram technically allows, on purpose.
1 message per person every 24 hours
Someone who comments on five of your posts receives one message, not five.
7 days per comment
A comment older than that does not receive a message; it is Instagram's own deadline.

When a cap holds someone back, nothing is hidden: the comment appears in the panel as "barrado" (blocked), with the reason. You see what did not go out and decide with the number in front of you.

Welcome messages: the first words are yours

For people who contact your account spontaneously on Direct, you can set a welcome of your own: a text, an "Áudio gravado" (Recorded audio) recorded by you (the recorder is on the screen itself), or both. It goes out before the AI improvises anything, so the first impression carries your voice, and only on each person's first contact: someone who has already talked to you does not get the welcome again with every message.

  • It is per account: each connected account has its own welcome message, so the store's can differ from the clinic's.
  • Anyone who arrived through a comment trigger receives the trigger message, not the welcome; the introduction was already made there.
  • With no welcome configured, the AI replies directly, as on any channel.
  • You can add emoji to the text through the same picker as Inbox. It is the same in every content field of the channel, including the trigger message.

If you want, write two versions: a general one and one for people who already follow your account. Each has its own texts and buttons; the audio is the same in both, so you do not record twice. When sending, we ask Instagram whether that person follows you and choose the right version.

  • Left the follower version blank? The general one applies to everyone: nothing breaks, and nobody is left without a welcome.
  • Someone who does not follow you receives the general one. And someone Instagram did not answer for also receives the general one: when in doubt, the message that works for anyone.
  • The preview shows both side by side, the way they will arrive.

Opening questions: the storefront of your Direct

Someone who opens your account's Direct for the first time can see up to 4 ready-made questions before typing, such as "What are the prices?" or "How does delivery work?". You write them on the "Perguntas de abertura" (Opening questions) screen of the Instagram menu; Instagram itself displays them.

  • The tap becomes the person's first message, and your usual service replies: fixed welcome (if on), then the AI with your persona and your knowledge base. There is no fixed answer hidden in the question.
  • Each question accepts up to 80 characters, and the list applies per connected account.
  • Saving with no questions removes the ones on Direct; the screen warns you first.
  • They appear to people who open the conversation for the first time; anyone who has already talked to the account sees the normal history.

Stories: replies and mentions

Stories move Direct in two ways, and the Stories screen of the Instagram menu handles both. When someone replies to one of your stories, the reply arrives in Inbox like any message, tagged "Respondeu ao seu story" (Replied to your story) so the agent knows where it came from, and your usual service replies. Nothing to configure.

  • Story mention: the person tagged your account in their story. They become a lead right away, with the mention recorded in the conversation, with or without a thank-you.
  • If you turn on the thank-you on the Stories screen, the next mention receives your fixed message on Direct (up to 500 characters). The text is yours; the AI does not improvise on mentions.
  • Each thank-you sent debits 1 Instagram message from your balance, like any send on the channel. With no balance, the mention enters Inbox without the automatic reply; nothing disappears.
  • The thank-you starts off on every account: a send that costs balance is something you turn on.

Lives: live triggers

On the Lives screen of the Instagram menu, you turn on, per account, the triggers on the comments of your lives as well. Whole-account triggers apply (a trigger tied to a specific post does not look at the live). Anyone who comments the word during the live receives the same Direct message, with AI screening, the same-person-in-24-hours rule, and opt-out working as always.

  • The reply on Direct goes out only while the live is on air, an Instagram rule. If the live ends first, the attempt is recorded in "Moderação" (Moderation) with the reason, and nothing blocks your post triggers.
  • The live cap is its own and tighter: up to 20 messages per live per hour (30 on posts).
  • Each message sent debits 1 Instagram message from your balance, as with regular triggers.
  • The switch starts off on every account.

The trigger's numbers

Each trigger (and the account, in aggregate) shows the feature's whole funnel, with no vanity:

Comments caught
Comments that matched the word and passed screening.
DMs sent
Trigger messages that actually went out.
Conversations opened
People who replied to the message. It is this channel's "click", the moment the AI takes over.
Leads in the pipeline
Leads born from the trigger, with the hot and warm cutoff of the qualification.

And, with the same prominence, what did not become a message and why: blocked by screening (with the most common reason), blocked by a cap, do-not-contact requests. A drop does not show up as an empty screen; it shows up as a drop, with a name.

The AI replying to comments

The trigger replies to whoever typed the agreed word. But many people comment "how much is it?", "open on Saturday?", or "loved it" without typing any word, and until now those people received nothing. That is what AI on comments solves: it reads the comment, writes a short public reply in your account's tone, and you decide who presses the button.

On screen: The entire AI-on-comments section: the three positions at the top, the review desk with a suggestion, the automatic categories with the four switches and the switch to publish without a source in the knowledge base, the "Como ela escreve" (How it writes) block, and the "A sua voz" (Your voice) block. The three positions, the review desk, and your voice, all per connected account.

  1. The three positions: "Desligado" (Off) is how the account starts: only the triggers work. "Sugerir" (Suggest) is the recommended one: the AI writes and nothing goes out without your approval. "Automático por categoria" (Automatic by category) lets you choose what goes out on its own.
  2. The review desk: One suggestion at a time: the comment and the post on the left; the editable draft, the reason, and the source on the right. The shortcuts A (approve), E (edit), and D (discard) really work. When it was the lack of a source that held the draft back, the desk says so and shows where the switch that loosens it is.
  3. "Automático por categoria" (Automatic by category): Price, praise, and hours can go out on their own. Complaints cannot: its switch is locked, and the reason is written right below. In this screenshot the account is on "Sugerir" (Suggest), so they all appear dimmed: they are only available in automatic mode. By default, even in the categories you turn on, only a reply with a source in your knowledge base goes out on its own, and the last switch, "Publicar sozinha mesmo sem fonte na base" (Publish on its own even without a source in the knowledge base), is the one that gives that up at your own risk.
  4. Your voice: Examples of "Como VOCÊ responderia" (How YOU would reply). Three already teach your voice and up to ten fit; the eleventh pushes the oldest one out. The counter next to the button tells you how many you have saved (in this screenshot, 1 of 10). Every time you edit a draft before approving it, your correction becomes an example, with an "Desfazer" (Undo) next to the notice. The smiley at the right of each of the two fields opens the emoji picker and inserts at your cursor, and the counter under the second field counts the sticker as one character, just like the server.
"Desligado" (Off)
The default from birth. Only the triggers you wrote reply; the AI writes nothing in public.
"Sugerir" (Suggest)
The recommended one. The AI writes and the reply waits on the review desk. Nothing appears under the post until a human presses the button.
"Automático por categoria" (Automatic by category)
You turn on category by category. The ones that are on go out on their own; the ones that are off keep coming to the desk.

The AI only replies with what is backed by your knowledge base. If you ask for the price and the price is not registered in "Base de conhecimento" (Knowledge base), it does not make it up: it stays silent, and the comment appears on the desk with the field blank and the reason written, so you can reply in your own words. It is the gap in your base becoming visible instead of turning into a guessed price under your Reel.

This also applies inside automatic mode: a category that is on only goes out on its own when the reply has a source. When the source is missing, the draft comes to the desk and it says that was the reason. It is not a defect; it is the rule at work.

  1. Turn on Suggest mode: Choose "Sugerir" (Suggest) on the account you want. Nothing changes in public; from then on, the comments worth a reply start to appear on the desk, and the bell notifies you.
  2. Review the first ones: Read the draft, the reason I suggested this, and the source that backs the text. Approve, edit before approving, or discard. Everything you do here is recorded.
  3. Teach your style: Whenever you edit before approving, we save your version as an example of your voice. After a few, the drafts already arrive sounding like you.
  4. Only then, if you want, automate: With the desk giving you confidence, turn on "Automático por categoria" (Automatic by category) and choose what goes out on its own. The rest keeps coming to you, and so does anything your base does not support, unless you turn on *"Publicar sozinha mesmo sem fonte na base" (Publish on its own even without a source in the knowledge base)*, right below the switches.

How it writes, and how to audit what went out

The public reply goes out short and with emoji: one or two lines, the way people reply from their phones. A formal paragraph in a comment gives away a robot immediately. The limit is 180 characters: if the reply goes over, it does not go out on its own; it comes to the desk marked "longa demais" (too long), and you decide.

  • Without emoji, if your brand does not use them: the switch *"Usar emoji nas respostas públicas" (Use emoji in public replies)* is under "Como ela escreve" (How it writes). Lawyers, clinics, and funeral homes usually turn it off; the tone stays short and human, just without emoji. It governs the AI, not you: the emoji picker in the fields stays there, and with it off your examples reach the model without emoji, so they do not teach the opposite of what you asked.
  • The persona's tone still rules the rest: form of address, formality, and the name it signs with are the ones you already registered for this account.
  • Your examples beat everything: they teach the voice better than any description. If your examples are longer than the channel's limit, the screen warns you; we keep your tone, shortening it.
  • Emoji where you write: the smiley button opens the same picker as Inbox in the desk draft and in the two fields of the voice example. It inserts at your cursor, not at the end. The counter under the field counts the sticker as one character, like the server, which is what decides whether the reply went over 180.

To audit what went out in your name, use the moderation filter bar: the "Respondidos pela IA" (Replied by AI) tab shows every public reply the AI wrote: the published text, the category, and when. Every automatic reply appears there, with the reason. And what you discarded is also recorded: you need to be able to audit what did not go out as much as what did.

A public reply has no cost. It does not use your balance; what costs is still the Direct message, by the usual measure.

Finding one comment in the pile

When a Reel takes off, the comment list becomes a pile, and the question you ask is not "which ones arrived" but "which ones were blocked", "what happened on that post", or "where is that person's comment". The bar above the list answers all three.

The row of statuses
"Todos" (All) · "Respondidos" (Replied) · "Respondidos pela IA" (Replied by AI) · "Barrados pela IA" (Blocked by AI) · "Sugestões" (Suggestions) · "Ocultados" (Hidden) · "Apagados" (Deleted). The number inside each one counts what is in that status within the slice you already chose: if you filtered by one Reel, the number is for that Reel. "44 blocked" already tells a story. By keyboard: the arrows move along the row and Enter selects.
The Suggestions tab
Suggestions to hide appear highlighted at the top of the list, on any tab; moderation cannot hide on page 5. On the "Sugestões" (Suggestions) tab they are the list itself, together with the ones you have already decided on: there the block at the top is not repeated.
"Gatilho" (Trigger)
Which word caught the comment. Useful when the same post has two agreed words: "quote" and "catalog" become two separate lists.
"Publicação" (Post)
Only the comments on a specific post or Reel.
"Período" (Period)
"Hoje" (Today), "Últimos 7 dias" (Last 7 days), "Últimos 30 dias" (Last 30 days), or "Tudo" (All). The day is yours: it turns over at midnight in the time zone set in "Configurações" (Settings), not at midnight in another country.
"Buscar" (Search) @author
A piece of the person's @ is enough, with or without the at sign, regardless of uppercase. On accounts with a very long history, the search looks at the most recent comments in the slice and tells you how far it searched; choosing a post or a period makes it go deeper.
  • The filters add up: "blocked, on that Reel, in the last 7 days" is one choice at a time, and the list narrows with each one.
  • The suggestions to hide stay at the top, even with a filter on. They wait for your decision; they cannot hide on page 5 or vanish because you changed tabs.
  • Scrolling stays within the filter: the list loads more of the same slice, and a new comment arriving in the middle makes nothing jump or repeat.
  • An empty list with a filter on says exactly that ("nenhum comentário barrado pela IA nos últimos 7 dias" (no comments blocked by AI in the last 7 days)) and offers the way back. Empty is never a single phrase, because the causes are not the same.

On screen: Comments and moderation panel with the row of statuses at the top ("Todos" (All), "Respondidos" (Replied), "Respondidos pela IA" (Replied by AI), "Barrados pela IA" (Blocked by AI), "Sugestões" (Suggestions), "Ocultados" (Hidden), and "Apagados" (Deleted), each with its number), the trigger, post, and period markers, the search field by author, and the list of comments with the suggestion to hide highlighted at the top. The filter bar and the list. The number inside each status is the total for that status within the chosen slice, not the page size or the account total.

Moderation: what each button does

The comments panel lists what arrived on your posts with a trigger, and screening puts at the top the ones it suggests hiding, with the reason in view. The AI never hides or deletes anything on its own: it suggests with the button ready, and you are the one who presses it, one comment at a time, always confirming in a dialog that shows the comment's text and author, so you confirm what you are looking at. Every action goes into the audit trail: who did it, what, on which comment, and when.

"Ocultar" (Hide)
The comment disappears from the post for the public, but still exists: the author is not notified, and you can unhide it whenever you want. It can be undone.
"Reexibir" (Unhide)
Undoes the hide: the comment appears on the post again for everyone.
"Apagar" (Delete)
Removes the comment from your public profile, for everyone, forever. There is no undo, neither here nor on Instagram. When in doubt, hide instead of deleting.

Did you delete a comment directly in the Instagram app? Instagram does not notify us when that happens; there is no automatic notice for a deleted comment. That is why the panel has the "Atualizar" (Refresh) button above the list: it asks Instagram, one comment at a time, which of the rows you are viewing are still there, and marks the ones that no longer are.

  • The row gets the "Apagado no Instagram" (Deleted on Instagram) badge and stops offering buttons: there is nothing left to moderate there.
  • It stays in the list, struck through. The history of what went through the trigger is yours, and it does not disappear on its own.
  • If you click "Ocultar" (Hide) or "Apagar" (Delete) on a comment that has already vanished, the panel understands right away and marks the row, instead of showing an Instagram error.
  • Made a mistake? It unmarks itself. If on a later check Instagram says the comment is there, the row goes back to normal and the buttons come back with it. What you deleted through the panel never comes back: deleting is forever.
  • "Atualizar" (Refresh) only runs when you ask: each comment checked is a query to Instagram. That is why it checks at most 30 per click, and the screen tells you how many it checked and how many are left for the next click.

The 24-hour window: the difference from WhatsApp

As on WhatsApp, after the person writes you have 24 hours to reply. The difference is in what happens when the window closes: on WhatsApp you can reopen it with an approved template; on Instagram there is no resume template, for anyone. Once it closes, the only thing that reopens the conversation is the person writing again. That is why an Instagram conversation in Inbox has no reopen button: it is not a missing feature, it is a door that Instagram does not have.

And one detail about the trigger: the trigger message does not open any window. It is the single message allowed from the comment; the 24-hour window is only born when the person replies. Until then, the conversation shows up in Inbox waiting, with the write field disabled and the reason explained.

What costs money and what does not

  • "Mensagem no Direct" (Direct message): each conversation message processed by the AI, and also the trigger message, counts as one message on your statement, as on any channel. The balance and statement are in "Saldo & Recargas" (Balance & top-ups).
  • A public reply on a comment is not charged. It is your text published on your post.
  • Comment screening is not charged. It runs on every comment that matched the word, without appearing on the statement.
  • Instagram has no rate of its own. Unlike WhatsApp, there is no Meta charge per conversation or per template on this channel.

When something seems wrong

They commented the word and nothing happened
Look at the trigger panel: if the comment is under "Barrados" (Blocked), the reason is beside it (screening, daily cap, a person who already received a message in the last 24 hours, do-not-contact request). If it does not appear at all, check that the word matched exactly ("pricey" does not fire "price") and that the trigger is on the right post and turned on.
The Direct message does not reach the panel
It is almost always the "Permitir acesso a mensagens" (Allow access to messages) switch turned off in the Instagram app, or an expired authorization; the account turns yellow with a reconnect button. The step-by-step is in "Conexões" (Connections).
"Pausamos os gatilhos de comentário" (We paused the comment triggers)
The emergency brake kicked in: Instagram flagged a policy problem on the account, or sends started failing in a row. Nothing goes out while it is paused. Review the trigger texts and turn it back on whenever you like — the screen shows the reason and the time.
The same person shows up twice, on Instagram and on WhatsApp
Instagram does not provide anyone's phone number, so the Direct lead starts out as a separate contact. When the person gives a phone number or email that already exists, the dashboard suggests merging the contacts — the decision is yours, never automatic, because merging the wrong ones would show another person's conversation.

In the dashboard: "Abrir Instagram — Gatilhos e boas-vindas" (Open Instagram — Triggers and welcome messages)
